Mark is a native of Colorado, and received his education at the University of Northern Colorado, Colorado College, and University of Colorado at Denver. He has twenty three years' of teaching experience, all in the Cherry Creek Schools in Denver, Colorado. He has worked as a half-time special education/Title I teacher, coordinator for gifted programming in middle school, and, four years, as a literacy coordinator with an emphasis in writing for grades K-5. During the summers, Mark teaches classes for M.A. candidates in literacy at the University of Colorado. He is also an instructional coach for the Denver Writing Project, which is a part of the National Writing project.
