Doreen Scott-Dunne’s passion for teaching has resulted in numerous adventures. She taught in a one-room schoolhouse in Scotland, then spent the rest of her career in Canada, teaching levels K through 8 in a variety of schools, to students of a wide range of abilities. A thoughtful instructional leader, Doreen was a literacy consultant, a principal, and most recently a Student Achievement Officer with the Ontario Ministry of Education.
Since completing her master’s degree in spelling, Doreen has focused on the vital link between spelling and writing. Her work with amazing young teachers has demonstrated the power of technology as an integral component of working with words. Doreen is the coauthor of Spelling Instruction That Makes Sense with Jo Phenix.
